You may add banners and avatars to your user account for free and benefit from free advertising provided that you have a top placed return link on your website and the literary contribution you make contains appropriate context and is not spam.  (not merely posting for only the sake of advertising)

You may also want to consider submitting links to each individual forum directory in the Web Links Area.  Forum moderators must pre-approve your listing.  Results typically will show up in three to five days.   These are long-term links and approval is subject to the discretion of the forum moderators.

Your job, banner or link adds will be "sticky" and top posted to the country forum of your choice.  You may purchase add space in terms of days, weeks, months or years.
